Jim Siderov Clinical Oncology Society of Australia Annual Scientific Meeting 2017

Jim Siderov

With over 35 years of dedicated experience in cancer pharmacy, I have cultivated a deep and enduring commitment to oncology practice. My career began in 1989 following the completion of my Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, and I have remained actively engaged in the field ever since. In 1998, I achieved the inaugural Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) from the U.S. Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties, with subsequent re-certifications in 2006, 2013, and 2021. My professional development has been marked by several significant milestones. I was awarded Fellowship of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) in 2004 and completed a Master of Clinical Pharmacy in 2005. In 2015, I was credentialed as an Advanced Practice Pharmacist by the Australian Pharmacy Council, and in 2023, I was conferred as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) – Pharmacist Consultant, Oncology & Haematology. In recognition of my substantial contributions to oncology pharmacy and professional organisations, I was appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2019. Currently, I serve as the Senior Pharmacist for Cancer Services at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre, Austin Health, in Heidelberg, Australia. I remain actively involved in professional organisations, having served on the SHPA Committee of Specialty Practice in Oncology and chaired the Cancer Pharmacists Group of the Clinical Oncological Society of Australia (2010–2012). I also led the Standards Committee of the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners (ISOPP) for four years beginning in 2012. Presently, I am a member of the US Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Council of the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. My academic contributions include a robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and regular presentations at national and international conferences. I have also supported the education of future pharmacists through lecturing roles at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.
